Getting Started
Where is your practice located?

My practice is located at 1201 Jadwin Avenue, Suite 102, Richland, WA 99352. I meet with clients here and remotely.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Getting started is simple. Reach out using the contact form on my website, send me an email at kristy@lifesajourneycounseling.com, or give me a call or text at (509) 730-5547. I'm in sessions most of the day, so I'll get back to you within 24-48 hours. I can respond to most text messages the same day.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

I offer both in-person sessions at my office in Richland, WA and secure virtual sessions for clients across Washington state. You're welcome to choose whichever option feels most comfortable for you.

What ages do you work with?

I work with teens and adults from all backgrounds.

When are you available for sessions?

I am available Monday through Thursday 8am to 6pm.

Services & Approach
What types of counseling do you provide?

I provide individual counseling, supporting clients through anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and significant life transitions. I also offer specialized therapy using EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART), which I integrate into sessions as needed.

To learn more about how we provide counseling, visit our About page. You can also learn more about ART on our Accelerated Resolution Therapy® page.

What is EMDR and ART® therapy?

Both EMDR and ART® can be done in person at my Richland office or virtually for clients across Washington.

Who will I be working with?

As a solo practice, you'll be working directly with me, Kristy McNamee LMHC. During our first session I'll get to know you, understand your goals, and make sure we're a good fit. If I feel your needs would be better served by another provider, I'll always be honest about that and help connect you with the right resources.

To learn more about me and how I work, visit the About page.

Insurance & Payment
Do you accept insurance?

I am not in network with insurance companies but will provide clients with a superbill upon request to submit to their insurance company for possible reimbursement.

However, I am proud to partner with Lyra Health, which allows clients who have Lyra as an employee benefit to access therapy coverage through their employer.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, credit card, and HSA payments at the time of service.

To learn more about our services and costs, visit our Services page.

Do you offer self-pay options?

Yes, all of my services are self-pay. Please visit my Services & Cost page for a full breakdown of session fees. If you have questions about payment before booking, don't hesitate to reach out.

Sessions & Process
What happens during the first session?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask about what brings you in, your background, and your goals so we can create a plan tailored to you. There's no pressure, it's simply a conversation at your pace.

How long is each session?

I offer 45-minute sessions for individuals ($125) and 55-minute sessions for individuals or families ($150). Your first intake session is 60 minutes ($175).

How often should I attend counseling?

Most clients start with weekly sessions, especially early in the process. As you make progress, we may move to every other week. Ultimately the frequency is based on your needs and goals, and we'll figure out what works best together.

How long will I be in therapy?

That varies from person to person. Some clients reach their goals in a few months, others benefit from longer-term support. I'll work with you to set clear goals and regularly check in on your progress so your time in therapy always feels purposeful.

Office & Logistics
Where is your office located?

My office is located at 1201 Jadwin Ave, Suite 102, Richland, WA 99352.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available at my office location and is plentiful.

Policies & Safety
What is your cancellation policy?

Because I set aside that hour specifically for you, I ask that you cancel at least 24 hours in advance. A late cancellation or no show will result in a $100 fee.

Do you provide crisis services?
